Champs,

customer needs to dedicate one sector to calibration data and would like to ensure that once programmed, the sector will not be overwritten by mistake, even when the application FW is subsequently loaded via SWD. It looks like "Do not erase flash memory" erase method is meant for cases such as this , i.e. only programming sectors that the application firmware occupies, but I do not see it clearly stated like this in any collaterals.

Will appreciate your clarification.

Two ways can be applied in this case:1. use static flash protection, if you do not need to change the calibration data at running time. 2. Use section erase to download the code.But it can be done with future version of the Uniflash.

Hi Gary,

Two questions:

1. Can you help find out when sector erase feature will be available in Uniflash?

2. Can you clarify what exactly happens when I select "do not erase flash memory" method in Uniflash?

If you program the device with erase, the flash will be over write and generate some error there

Sorry for the late update. Yes, for the online version can support this function now.UniFlash (ti.com)

For the offline version 8.3 will support this and will be released this week.
