We recently purchased 3 of the XDS110 Debug probes to program some TI-C2000 based DSP boards we had made. Since ribbon cables and connectors are notoriously fragile, I was hoping to purchase some extras of both the 20 pin JTAG cables and 14 pin AUX cables, but I couldn't find them available on you website. Is it possible to order these? (If not, could you supply me the connector particulars, and I will see about getting them from another source, like Molex etc.)

Also, it looks like we will have to make a custom adapter f to use the AUX capabilities; is there a 12 pin connector that mates with the supplied AUX breakout adapter?

XDS110 information

XDS110 is the first Debug Probe that features two ports and the cables can be completely detached.

Aux port:

Features 2 rows of 7 pins each, 0.05" (1.27mm) pin and row pitch.

IMPORTANT! The part numbers below are based on the manufacturers' specifications, which can change without prior notice.

Manufacturer: Samtec

Board header: SHF-107-01-L-D-SM (surface mount) or SHF-107-01-L-D-RA (right angle)
Debug probe connector. Samtec has a complete cable assembly. FFSD-07-D-04.00-01-N

Manufacturer: Don Connex

Board header: C42-14-B-G-1-G (straight angle) or C43-14-B-G-1-G (right angle)
Debug probe connector: A32c-14-B-G-B-1-G

Debug port:

On the pod it features 2 rows of 10 pins each, 0.05" (1.27mm) pin and row pitch.

Specifications are the same for ARM Cortex 20-pin Header information above

On the target end it features 2 rows of 10 pins each, 0.05" (1.27mm) pin and 0.10" (2.54mm) row pitch.

Specifications are the same for cTI 20-pin Header Information above

Part numbers for assembly:

The Debug Port cable is custom and does not have a direct part number for ordering, thus it requires to be assembled.

Cable Assemblies with Debug Port connector + cable:

Samtec: FFSD-05-S-04.00-01-N

Separate parts to build the cable:

Target side cable receptacle cTI 20-pin: Don Connex A07a-20-B-G-A-1-G or Adam Tech HFCS-20-SG
Debug Probe cable receptacle: Don Connex A32c-10-B-G-B-1-G or Adam Tech HFCS-A-20-SG
Cable: 3M 3749 series

That is all good information, and it helps a lot. However, I still couldn't find anything regarding utilizing the Aux Breakout adapter (518380-0001R). Is there a mating (female) 12 pin connector that matches the pins on the boards, or do we need to solder directly to the pins?

Unfortunately, I'm not the designer of this emulator pod and don't have any further details to share. Can you share a picture of the exact cable you are looking for? I can check around with TI and see whether I can make any suggestions.

I get that we'll have to make the actual custom cable, but what I need to know is what is the specific connector that matches the board pins.

Hey Jim,

Based on the Aux Breakout adapter picture you shared, this looks like the TI 14-pin JTAG header.

No! I'm talking about the 12 PIN ASSEMBLY on the AUX Breakout adapter board!

You guys have given me a bunch of information, but nothing that answers the original question that I had regarding the 12 pin connector on the breakout board. I give up, and we'll just have to figure it out for ourselves (even though this a part that comes in a TI kit, so you must have some documentation somewhere.) Let's just call it done...

Hello Jim,

Apologies we were not able to provide you with a more valuable answer here. There is not a unique connector type for this side of the board. It is expected that every user will have a unique set of requirements so the AUX breakout adapter board is designed to route the TI 14-pin JTAG header too 12x easy access standard 0.1” breakaway pin headers. From these header pins, any generic F2F or M2F (Pitch : 2.54mm/0.1") cable can be used. An example option is provided below.
