MSPM0L1105: Functionality loss after a POR

Hi,

I'm working with the MSPM0L1105 and every time that I remove the power to the board and return it, the board just won't do anything.

I've tried isolating a simple code that keeps an LED ON, making sure that the watchdog is disabled, and is the same.

I program the device, the LED turns ON,
I remove the debug cable, LED's still ON,
I remove the power to the board LED goes OFF,
I return the power to the board, LED's still OFF

Does anyone know why could this be happening?

Can you try with an example code like GPIO toggle to see if it can work? (Maybe you need to change the LED assignment or directly detect the wave on that pin)

If it still can't work, can you share the schematic with me?

Hi Zhou,

I tried what you asked me to, but still after removing and returning the power, the LED toggle did not started.

I used the gpio_toggle_output_LP_MSPM0L1306_nortos_ticlang using the SDK mspm0_sdk_1_00_00_04 and CCS 12.3.0

I modified the example by changing the pin used for the LED, removing 2 extra LEDs used in the example and replacing:

mspm0l1306.cmd for mspm0l1105.cmd

startup_mspm0l1306_ticlang.c for startup_mspm0l1105_ticlang.c

Regarding sharing the schematic, I think our policies won't allow us to share that in a forum. I'll review if there's a way to share this with you using a cloud drive.

Hi,

Thank you for the test.

It seems the problem lies on the power-up and have no relationship with SW.

It will be good if you can test the 3V3, and Power_ON pin. I would assume this pin may be powered up faster than VCC. It will cause the overspec issue.

Hi Eason,

Seems like that's not the issue.

One of the EE engineers removed the R5 resistance to avoid PowerIn to reach the board faster than the 3V3. This compromises our functionality but we just wanted to see if the unit was able to power-up (which wasn't the case).

Our code maintains an LED blinking, which was visible after flashing the unit, but not after removing and returning the power.
