LAUNCHXL2-RM57L: Purchase/Download TI ARM-CGT compiler version for CCS and HalCoGen for LAUNCHXL2-RM57L Development

Hi QJ Yes we are developing a Class III medical device so we need it. Do we need to uninstall the CCS and Compiler we initially installed and install what is downloaded from the link you supply above? Thank you again.

No, you need to download the QKIT for your compiler version, and apply the CQKIT .

Safety standards require classification for software tools used for functional safety development. Classification of TCL2,3 for ISO 26262, or T3 for IEC 61508 both require tool qualification for use in functional safety development.

TI provides TI Compiler QKITs to enable customers to use TI compilers for functional safety development. We used the qualification kit approach instead of certifying compilers. The main reason is that we did not want to limit our customers to a subset of compiler options and use cases. The QKIT approach allows for flexibility with how customers use TI compilers (ie compiler options, language features, etc).

Hi QJ, Thank you. I looked at your link above. How do we know which  QKIT to download and our compiler version we should use for this? Where do we get the QKIT for our compiler version for for the RM57? Is it free or do we buy it from TI? Do we just use the version of compiler of what is configured as default in CCS for the RM57 when we imported the TI CCS and HalCogen RM57 launchpad "demo" project? Thank you, Tammy
