I have inherited a design incorporating the SM470R1B1M-HT but has no firmware and I cannot see how it is best programmed (except for some text relating to IAR) the data-sheet is very vague with necessary electronic design details is there any other info available out there regarding electrical arrangement, programming, and other apps? Thanks in advance, or maybe reccomend a similar part that has more info.....

I wish there were more information such as app notes for this device. I suppose you have already gone through them. A reference design for this device can be found at https://www.ti.com/tool/TIDA-00002. This is all the information that is available for this device.

I find another MCU that is rated for high temp (-55 to 220C) operation as follows.
