No DMA documentation for 470?

Where is the best place to look for documentation for the DMA on the 470? The tech ref manual has little info and the datasheets have nothing. 570 has some info but I'm not sure which of that also applies to the 470 since it uses the M3 core.

Are you using one of the TMS470M part numbers listed on this page:

None of these have DMA as far as I can tell by the datasheet, so I'm thinking you're working with one of the semi-custom devices in this family.

If you provide the part # - that will help us get you the correct information.

Yes, we're using the TMS470MF03107. On closer inspection I guess the part datasheet itself doesn't mention DMA at all. So I think all the information in the tech ref manual on DMA doesn't apply for the 470M. I would suggest revising it so that those portions are removed so as not to give a false impression.

Good point Chris, I see what you mean since there's 528 references to DMA in the TRM; since many of the peripherals can support a DMA controller if it's on the device.

Do you think you can make your application work without a DMA controller, or is this a showstopper?

Yeah, not having DMA is NOT a show stopper. Just thought if it was available it's the most efficient way of getting data off of CAN.

has this bug been fixed yet?

I have just fallen into the same trap! it looks like there should be a DMA, until you dig a little deeper and find out that it isn't there. I have been using the latest RM off the TI site.
