Hi,
We are using AM2432 in our design as mentioned earlier. We are trying to figure out Other than the MCU specific power supply pins such as VDDSHV_MCU, VDDA_MCU and VDDA_OSC, are there any other power supply being shared from the Main domain to MCU domain? For instance, where the MCU domain M4F Core gets its power supply from. I searched out the TRM to find this detail but was not able to. This bit of information is important to us in terms of external monitoring in FS applications.
Basically, if you can provide me with the list of the power supplies that will be shared by the MAIN domain and the MCU domain in the chipset, it will be great in terms of determining the isolation also between the modules.
Thanks,
Dhruvil
Hello Dhruvil,
I am looking into your question now and will get back to you with more information by next Wednesday (6/21/23).

Hi Dhruvil,
As you mentioned VDDSHV_MCU, VDDA_MCU and VDDA_OSC are used for supplying MCU. Please refer to section 6.3 Signal Description in Data sheet, which lists if the modules belong to MAIN or MCU Domain.
Please let us know if that clarifies your query.
Best Regards, Shiv
Hi Shiv,
I am aware about those power supplies that says in the name that they are dedicated for the MCU. However what I don't understand is where the core of the MCU is powered from. You see the VDD_SHV powers the IOs, VDDA_MCU powers the POR and PLLs and The VDDA_OSC powers the oscillator section in the MCU part of it. What I want to know if there are any power supply pins that are portrayed as the Main domain power but are also responsible for powering the M4F core? That is important to us because as a part of diagnostics we need to monitor that supply as well.
Hi Dhruvil, ok understood. Will check internally and update if there are any power supplies that are shared by the MAIN domain and the MCU domain.
Best Regards, Shiv
Hey Dhruvil,
There is only a single Voltage Domain in the AM243x device which is shared between MCU and MAIN domains. This single voltage domain is then split between two PSC power domains (MCU_PSC and MAIN_PSC) which are then broken open into their multiple LPSC groupings. The separation of these two domains is to enable reset isolation, this does not translate to split voltage core voltage domains. Only MCU Domain IO and Analog supplies are isolated. The core supply is shared between MAIN and MCU domains.
To answer your question directly, the VDD_CORE supply is shared between R5F cores (MAIN domain) and M4F core (MCU domain).
