AM2632: AM263x, How to measure the pulse signal from ex-sensor.

Part Number: AM2632

Hello,TI Team.

I want to measure a pulse signal from an external sensor.
There are several types of sensors, and the frequency of the pulse to be measured is in the range of 10Hz to 50kHz.

Is there a good way to measure pulse signals?
I thought to connect from GPI port to eCAP via Input XBAR.

  • Hi Yu-san,

There are likely a number of means to do this but definitely sounds like a strong fit for the eCAP and that would be my leading suggestion as well.

Have a look at the content in 7.4.6.6.13.1 Pulse Width and Period Monitoring to start.

The section is built around the idea that you'd use it for error detection with min and max periods, but when looking at the diagram plus the functionality, it looks like it would be just as simple to make any period that falls into that range be an 'error' and then when the error is tripped you can just go back and get the cnt1 and cnt2 values to then calculate the period of the signal.
