  • Hi

Please see below finding,QC concerns are discoloration/oxidation.  COO PH, DC 22+

I don't have the expertise to answer if this normal or not. I will need to get some details from you for our team to answer the question. Can you please answer a few questions?

     - What is COO PH, DC 22+. Please elaborate what each term means.

     - Has this chip in picture soldered on a PCB board at any time? Or this picture is taken before it is ever assembled to the board?

     - Is the discoloration on one particular side of pins or all sides of the chip?

     - If the chip in picture has been mounted on the pcb, has it been running any program? If yes, for how long?

     - Is what you are showing in the picture for one chip or multiple chips?

     - Have you seen the same discoloration across all chips or only one chip?

     - What type of storage or operating environment (eg. temp, humility) is the chip in the picture subjected to?

     -

  • Hi Charles, part is assembled in Philippines, date code is 2022+, parts are manufactory sealed, when we opened the package and found various chips with discoloration , on all sides of the chip.  parts are not yet used on the PCB. part is under well storage, it was full manufactory package but with discoloration. is it normal ?

  • Hi Grace,

I'm trying to reach out to the internal experts for comments.

Can you confirm one more time that this chip has not been soldered to a PCB yet? It has always been stored in the esd / moisture bag with passing humidity card? In another word, you have seen the discoloration the first time after you opened the package?

  • Hi Grace,

Talking to our expert, they consider it normal. If you see any issues after soldering on the PCB, please report back. Thanks.
