Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH
Hi,
We're having an issue where some of our XDS110 probes are failing to program the RM57 device from uniflash with the following error:
[ERROR] IcePick: Error connecting to the target: (Error -2131 @ 0x0) Unable to access device register. Reset the device, and retry the operation. If error persists, confirm configuration, power-cycle the board, and/or try more reliable JTAG settings (e.g. lower TCLK). (Emulation package 9.11.0.00128)
Following forum suggestions I ran the "test connection" program from a blank CCS project (.ccxml) which eventually outputs the following:
-----[An error has occurred and this utility has aborted]--------------------
This error is generated by TI's USCIF driver or utilities.
The value is '-233' (0xffffff17).The title is 'SC_ERR_PATH_BROKEN'.
The explanation is:The JTAG IR and DR scan-paths cannot circulate bits, they may be broken. An attempt to scan the JTAG scan-path has failed. The target's JTAG scan-path appears to be brokenwith a stuck-at-ones or stuck-at-zero fault.
[End: Texas Instruments XDS110 USB Debug Probe]
This error code links to the "Invalid data read back" section of the troubleshooting guide which suggests a hardware issue with the debug probe or the device to be programmed. My issue with this is the programmed device has a mature hardware design and we're only recently seeing this issue on a subset of XDS110 devices (I can use a different probe and program the device fine). We've also had issues with programming that a PC reset appear to solve which may or may not be related to this. Are there any further steps in determining whether the XDS110 devices are faulty, and if so if they can be reset/repaired?
Regards,
Matthew Howard
