6.3.80 PBIST Auto-coverage
The PBIST diagnostic is based on a 32-bit signature capture. For a given test, only one code is valid out of 2^32 possibilities. Therefore, if there is a fault in the PBIST logic, it is extremely unlikely that the correct passing code will be generated via the fault.

How to understand PBIST Auto-coverage ? when do we do the test , startup or cycle ?

Hi,

PBIST is a test on memories to detect stuck at bits.
PBIST is suggested to be done during the startup.

Hi Jin,

PBIST is a destructive test. It will destroy the data in RAM.

On signature capture, we ae trying to say that if PBIST logic test fails, it's highly unlikely to generate a correct signature. Any PBIST logic test fails will be captured.
