AM2431: switch mode was not worked in enet_layer2_example

Dear Champs,

My customer tried to test switch mode of PRU-ICSSG ethernet using enet_layer2 example, but faced an error while trying to set for switch mode in sysconfig as below.

Could you please check and let me know how they should set for switch mode in sysconfig?

Hi SI,
I believe you are using later SDK release ( 08.06.00.45 ).

In order to covert the 'enet_layer2_icssg' to switch mode, please follow the below steps in SysCfg GUI tool-

1. Under Enet (ICSS), delete CONFIG_ENET_ICSS1 instance-

2. Under Enet (ICSS) -> CONFIG_ENET_ICSS0 -> EMAC mode set it to SWITCH
3. Add an additional Rx DMA Channel, as per bellow setting (circled ones are relevant, other option you may change)

4. Change Packet Pool Config as per suggestion based on the number of packet allocations-

This should enable to solve Syscfg GUI errors and compile the example.

Hi SI.
On top of the above change, there needs another change in the example source code (in enet_layer2_iccsg.c file ) to get good performance on host port.

Please modify the example as per above suggestions and let me know if you are face any challenges.

Excuse me for cutting in.

With the above change in enet_layer2_icssg.c file, I was able to resolve my problem that has been locked as bellow.

I think because enqueuing all the Rx DMA queues that we prepared in the SysConfig gave me good results.
(ENET_SYSCFG_TOTAL_NUM_RX_PKT/ENET_SYSCFG_RX_FLOWS_NUM = 16/2 = 8 queues)

I hope the next SDK release, SDK(9.0) will reflect the above change in example enet_layer2_icssg.c file.
