MCU-PLUS-SDK-AM263X: ADC SOC Continuous example

When I run the example found in examples\drivers\adc\adc_soc_continuous\am263x-cc, I expect to see output along the lines of

(taken from the example's documentation)

However, all I'm getting is this:

which indicates to me that the conversion results are hanging.

Is it possible to reproduce this problem on TI's end?

Few questions:

What is the version of SDK you are using?
Did you update the code or sysconfig configuration of the example?

Hi Sanjeev,

I'm using mcu_plus_sdk_am263x_08_06_00_34.

I have not made any changes to the code nor sysconfig file.

Hello,

This issue is not reproduced in AM263x LP or CC on TI side.

There are two places where this example can potentially hang after printing the line 'ADC Soc Continuous Test Started\'

Line 99: while(false == ADC_getInterruptStatus(gAdc1baseAddr, ADC_INT_NUMBER2));

where the code waits for INT2 interrupt bit

Line 107: while(false == ADC_getInterruptStatus(gAdc1baseAddr, ADC_INT_NUMBER1));

where the code waits for INT1 interrupt bit

If you are using CCS to load and run this example, can you please check whether the code hangs in one of these 2 lines.

Hello,

Thanks for the info.

The issue is reproduced at TI. Issue occurs in 'Debug' mode build of this example, but not with 'Release' mode. I will investigate and get back.

Can you please switch the project to 'Release' mode and run? (Right click on the project -> Build Configurations -> Set Active -> 2 Release)

Hello,

We suspect timing differences between the debug mode and release mode application is causing the issue.

If the clearing of ADC interrupts in line 100 and 108 (INT1 and INT2 which used for triggering the SOCs) gets delayed, overflow of interrupt can occur and result in missing triggers for subsequent ADC conversions.

To resolve the issue:

Can you please enable the 'Enable Continue to Interrupt Mode' checkbox in the ADC sysconfig and run?

Refer screenshot below

This resolves the hang issue in debug mode.

For your reference:

above change in sysconfig connects the 'continuous' path for ADC INT1 and ADC INT2
