TMS570LS3137: First Connection Problem in Serial Port Connection

Part Number: TMS570LS3137

When I connect to the processor through the serial port, I cannot send or receive any commands unless I do a hardware reset to the processor. 

When the processor is connected, when I press the reset button on it, I can receive and transmit data. 

Is there a function or code that can perform an automatic software reset when I connect to the port? 

There may be another alternative solution.
