AM2434: PROC101C boards are easily damaged.

Part Number: AM2434

If I turn ON/OFF the PROC101C board power, the board will be damaged.
I think the cause of the damage is probably the following problem.
www.ti.com/.../GUID-95C5AE86-160C-4CBF-892A-10575EC049F2

Q1. Which LSI will be destroyed by this operation?
(I would like to know which one to replace to ensure recovery.)

Q2. Considering various force majeure, I think that the workaround of this article is unreasonable.
Is the user responsible for board damage caused by this?

  • Hi,

First, my apologies for the delay while E2E was down at the end of last week.

The device that is most likely to be damaged is the power IC, U30, LM5140.

The recommendation is to ensure the power switch is switched to the Off position before connecting the DC barrel jack, then once the barrel jack is fully plugged in, turning the power switch to the On position.

    Thanks,
    Mike
