TMS570LC4357: Are there existing performance benchmarks between tiarmclang and armcl compilers? And what is the future of armcl support?

Part Number: TMS570LC4357
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: HALCOGEN

Hi,

My team currently uses armcl version v20.2.4.LTS for our TMS570LC4357 processor and are considering migrating to tiarmclang.

We have two questions, however:

  1.  Are there any existing performance benchmarks performed by TI between tiarmclang and armcl? I see that there are existing benchmarks between tiarmclang releases. Additionally, do you have any advice on how to benchmark our own code on both compilers?
  2. What is the future of the armcl compiler? A new version has not been released in a year whereas several tiarmclang LTS and STS versions have been released in the meanwhile. The answer to this question seems to indicate TI is winding down armcl support. There is also a long list of known issues with the compiler that haven't been addressed in the past few versions

Thanks!
