AM2634-Q1: OTP section writes at separate times

Part Number: AM2634-Q1

Team,

subject is criptic, but the question : is it possible to write OTP sections in multiple timeslot ? meaning can we fuse a section of OTP , then come back later to fuse another section ?

Alternatively is there a way to use HSM without flashing the OTP ? The idea behind is to simplify the development process.

  • Hello O'Mellin,

My understanding is that it is not possible to write to OTP section in multiple intervals, the entire OTP range has to be written and fused in a single step.

I'll have to defer to our HSM expert regarding the second question.

  • Hi O'Mellin,

These questions are very fundamental which are answered by the MCU+ Academy module of AM26x - https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?node=A__AESgmqK3b93425uf.HP2zA__AM26X-ACADEMY__t0CaxbG__LATEST

Please use this academy and most of the queries will be answered itself.

If you intend to write different rows of OTP region then YES it is possible.

If you have locked the specific row for writes, you cannot overwrite on the same row.

If you have not locked the row for writes, and you intend to still write on the row then you can only change the bits set from 0s to 1s. Setting the bits from 1s to 0s is not allowed.

    Hope it helps.
