MCU-PLUS-SDK-AM243X: Inquire about the Baud Rate of the licensed Ethernet/IP stack

Part Number: MCU-PLUS-SDK-AM243X

Hello, experts

I have some inquiries, but I would like to check the contents below first.

Does the KUNBUS EtherNet/IP Stack provided on AM243x...F....... only support 100Mbps as shown in the link below?

I want 1Gbps, should I use 3rd party stack?

  • Hi,

Does the KUNBUS EtherNet/IP Stack provided on AM243x...F....... only support 100Mbps as shown in the link below?

Yes we only support 100M EthernetIP.

    I want 1Gbps, should I use 3rd party stack?

We currently do not have 1Gbps EThernetIP driver support. Also I am not aware of EthernetIP 1g Stack avaliability with any 3P.

Could you please explain more about your project so I can help you better?

  • Although it is difficult to explain exactly because of the lack of understanding,
With ICSSG supporting 1000 Mbps speed and industrial communications, we expected to implement 1Gbps Ethernet/IP.

I'd like to ask you more questions.

    1. Can't KUNBUS ethernet/ip stack be modified because it is binary?

    2. Any implementation plans for Ethernet/IP stacks that support 1Gbps?

    3. Can I port 3rd party Ethernet/IP stack even if C, D, and E are located in F position in AM243x...F....?

It needs a bit of clarification ICSS EMAC FW HAL only supports 100M speed not 1Gbps. For 1Gbps you need to use Enet ICSSG:

    1. Can't KUNBUS ethernet/ip stack be modified because it is binary?

No it cannot be modified. Also it only supports 100Mbps.

    2. Any implementation plans for Ethernet/IP stacks that support 1Gbps?

No, we do not have 1g implementation of EthernetIP

    3. Can I port 3rd party Ethernet/IP stack even if C, D, and E are located in F position in AM243x...F....?

Again for using Enet ICSSG you need to get part D, as it has ethernet modules enabled.
