MCU-PLUS-SDK-AM263X: CMPSS Asynchronous trip example

When running the example found in examples\drivers\cmpss\cmpss_asynchronous_trip\am263x-cc I find that the signal is always asserted whether HSEC Pin 12 is connected to GND or 3V3 and the signal never de-asserts. The output of HSEC Pin 51 is always 3.3V and I see no change in LEDs.

Is this issue reproducible? Am I connecting to the right pins?

Can you confirm if you are using the E2 revision of the EVM?

If so, the pin you should be using for the 3.3V / GND input is Pin 9.

Refer to Table A-5 of the User's Guide for a breakout of the signal differences between E1 and E2. https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/spruj09

Assuming this is the issue at hand, I've already highlighted the shortcomings we have on both SDK and User's Guide due to the E2 changes...

Hello Eitan,

There is an error in the driver documentation. Please use Pin 15 as the 3.3V / GND input.

The SDK example comments correctly identify that CMPIN1P is driving the LED but CMPIN1P is mapped to ADC0_AIN2 or pin 15 of the HSEC.

I was able to confirm an E2 Control Card that the pin 15 input correctly drives the LED. I apologize for the confusion and I will file the bug to get it addressed in the next SDK revision.

Hello Eitan,

I was able to test again with the same revision of the board and confirm that the test works with pin 15 on MCU+ SDK 9.00. Which version of the SDK are you using? I can test that as well when I have your SDK version number.

There does not appear to be any issues with your configuration. Did you make any modifications to the board?

Hello,

8.6.0.34 version of SDK (and all older versions) supports AM263x ControlCard E1 by default. And the documentation (CMPSS instance usage, pins usage, crossbar usage for the CMPSS Asynchronous trip example) is also relevant only for CC E1.

To run the CMPSS Asynchronous trip example on CC E2, with 8.6.0.34 SDK, please refer the instruction in the user guide; (screenshots of changes required in sysconfig for CMPSS and relevant crossbars)

Hello,

There are differences between the ControlCard E2 and ControlCard E1 for the analog pinout (HSEC pins for DAC, ADC/CMPSS) due to which the CMPSS and ADC examples in the SDK are not re-usable AS IS on both the boards.

Here is some info about the differences:

(As mentioned in the instructions I shared above) In the sysconfig tool, please make sure to use the CMPSS instance corresponding to the pin you plan to use on the board
