MCU-PLUS-SDK-AM243X: MCRC

Part Number: MCU-PLUS-SDK-AM243X

Hello IT-Support,

in chapter "12.6.3.1.1 MCRC Features" in the documentation "sprum2g.pdf" says there are 3 Modi to use.

- Auto Mode, Semi-CPU, Full-CPU

But in chapter "12.6.3.1.2 MCRC Not Supported Features" says that there is no DMA support and Auto - Mode support.

-> Do i understand right ? Only Full-CPU Mode works yet ?

In "mcu_plus_sdk_am243x_08_06_00_43" there are examples for Auto Mode, Semi CPU and Full CPU. But only Full CPU example works.

In "mcu_plus_sdk_am243x_09_00_00_35" there is only Full CPU example.

When will the other Modi be implemented?

Is there a significant impact on memory bandwidth or bus load in the different Modis?

Is there a impact to use the mcrc parallel with all cores with freeRTOS?

  • Hi Jonas,

Auto mode and Semi CPU mode in 8.6.0 were not meant to be packaged and were moved in 9.0.0. We are currently working to add these examples as part of 9.1.0.

I will check with the TRM team on the not supported features.

In general, Semi CPU and Auto mode use DMA in the background reducing CPU load. In Full CPU mode, everything is done by the CPU.

    Regards,
    Vishwanath Reddy.

  • Hi Jonas,

The documented non supported features are for M4F domain. From R5F domain, MCRC Auto mode is supported. Example for this will be provided as part of 9.1.0 release.

    Vishwanath Reddy.
