AM2432: Memory Usage on EtherCAT Slave Solution

Part Number: AM2432

Hi,

I have some questions about TI EtherCAT Slave solution. Could you answer to my questions below ?

https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-industrial-sw/esd/ind_comms_sdk/am243x/09_00_00_03/docs/am243x/ethercat_slave/ethercat_datasheet.html

1.  Could you tell me which memory are used on this solution ?

2.  Are all of program code and data loaded to OCSRAM from Flash at the boot ?

3.  Is TCM used ? Is cache used ?

4.  Is it possible to operate the EtherCAT with the performance described in the above datasheet even though the TCM is not used ?

Thanks and regards,
Hideaki

  • Hi Hideki,

You can check the memory in the map file or memeory allocation tab in ccs.

    2.  Are all of program code and data loaded to OCSRAM from Flash at the boot ?

    3.  Is TCM used ? Is cache used ?

Yes all code and data are in MSRAM and TCM is not used. Yes cache is enabled

    4.  Is it possible to operate the EtherCAT with the performance described in the above datasheet even though the TCM is not used ?

Yes the measurements are from MSRAM so it will have same performance
