AM2634: Can ADC convert all the pins of a group parallelly ?

Part Number: AM2634

Dear TI Experts,

We are trying to achieve group conversion in ADC.

We wanted to know can we convert multiple ADC's Parallelly ?

For example: ADC 1 has 6 Pins, can these all convert in parallel (Simultaneous Conversions) ?

  • Nope, it has only one ADC that is multiplexed:

  • HI Prashanth,

No, there is only one sample+hold circuit in each ADC instance, so the ADC samples the analog input signal channel by channel. There is one input multiplexer in each ADC instance. The input multiplexor connects the selected analog input channel to the input of the ADC core. The ADC sequencer or internal logic selects the channel to be converted,

The device supports 5 ADC converters. so it is easy to achieve simultaneous sampling. The analog signals can be tied to two or more ADC modules, and those ADC modules are triggered using the same trigger source.
