TDA4VM Edge AI kit - electric cooler recommendation

There should not be a need to replace the heat sink on the SK-TDA4VM.  Can you report back the value from the on-die temp sensors?

How can I get this value? And another question, do you have solution for real time clock in TDA4? 

Temperature I can get with this command:

cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp

I made a test with synthetic calculation of fibonacci number without any background processes running. 


I see that temperature reached 90 C, what is not applicable in case when device will be installed in limited space (during the test it is not). 

And if I put small fan under the stock radiator (ODS-2507) 



With the same load temperature falls down to 60 C what is much better. And the temperature in a standby mode without a fan is 73 C, what is too much, from my point of view. 




That's why I am thinking that active cooling is necessary.

90C is "in spec" so while cooling may improve some underlying issue it should not be strictly required.  If you have a fan that works for you ... by all means use it.  We don't have any specific recommendation on part #s for that.
