HI,
the am2432 microcontroller as a slave supports the Ethernet over EtherCAT (EoE) protocol,
or you need to insert an EL6601 BECHKOFF type ethernet switch
infosys.beckhoff.com/english.php
Please refer to this, seems like a redundant thread.
The slave does not support eoe, it will be either master or an ET6601 nodes can give branch off to an Ethernet connection from the EtherCAT network.
Sorry, I am attaching the document which states that the microcontroller supports EoE protocol
Hi Stefano,
Let me clarify, I am still taking into consideration that you want to plug EtherCAT slave directly into external network. Packets with Ethertype other than 0x88a4 are not supported by Ethercat Slaves. Ethernet over ethercat does not work that way. Ethernet traffic such as web or TCP/IP traffic can only be transported in small portions in piggyback style over EtherCAT; direct coexistence on the wire is not possible. You will need a switch port to connect the ethernet device.
