TMS570LC4357: Unable to transfer only one byte of data using SPI

Hello,

I'm currently working with the TMS570LC4357 as a master and a CY15B102QN (FRAM) as a slave in my project.

I'm facing an issue where I'm attempting to send 0x06 from the master to enable write on the FRAM, but unfortunately, my attempts haven't been successful so far.

I've experimented with adding padding both at the start of the byte by sending 0x0006 and at the end by sending 0x0600.

After trying with a different slave, a S25FL512S (FLASH memory), I found out that CS# need to go back after the eighth bit of the instruction byte. Otherwise it will not work.

That's why I am asking if there is a way to send just one byte with SPI using the given code.
