AM2634: ICSS use to communicate with high-speed serial

Part Number: AM2634

Hi team,

TI Sitara series has a feature called PRU-ICSS.

Can we use this function to communicate with high-speed serial communication?

My customer is using FPGA to communicate externally with high-speed serial communication, which is a proprietary protocol.

If the PRU-ICSS feature of the TI Sitara series enables this high-speed serial communication,
The FPGA itself can be removed from the configuration in their next platform, it will be a significant cost improvement for them.

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Kenley

Yes, it is possible to use ICSS for such purpose, On AM263x ICSS is clocked at 200Mhz, so customer will need to consider the timing requirement, if that satisfies then they should be able to use it.
