Calibration Data Tables in Flash

Hi,

I am using the TMS570 Microcontroller Development Stick, with a TMS570LS20216 MCU (ASPGEQQ1).

The technical reference manual states that the flash can be used to store calibration data tables. I have three sets of data tables that I would like to be able to store in flash at specific addresses, so that I can read this data from the main code.

How do I go about getting this data stored in flash memory?

Are you planning to include that calibration in your source code or you'll get that as object code from other source?

Hi Enrique,

I tried something similar to this example, but the data does not appear in flash.

I had envisaged having a default calibration in source code, which can be updated as required with unit specific calibration data.

Hi Dave,

if the data dose not appear in the flash this might be a problem with the unused section elimination feature of the linker. The linker removes unused sections if it does not find any references to them.

You can control this with the command line options --unused_section_elimination[=on|off] and --retain=sym_or_scn_spec. The first option can be used to disable this feature globally and is sufficient for a first test if this is your problem, the second one can be used to disable this for a specific section or symbol.
