AM2434: What does it mean by optional support

Hi Team,

I noticed on the AM243x product details slot mentioned that “Optional support for Profinet, EtherCAT, and etc…”, may I know what is means by the “Optional support”? Pls see the pic attached below for the statement I mentioned.

Hi Ernest,

Meanwhile the expert is OOO, I can share some details about it.

For example, EtherCAT will work only on E and F parts. In SDK, there are two examples for EtherCAT. One based on EtherCAT SubDevice Stack Code (SSC) version 5.13 from Beckhoff and other based on pre-integrated stack. First one will work on both E and F part, second one will work only on F part.

Hi Ernest,

Adding to what is shared above Optional support also means TI provides full protocol stack solution to customer along with that there are options available to get these stacks from our 3rd parties, who work with us.
