MSP432E401Y: ADC value higher than expected.

Part Number: MSP432E401Y

I am using pin 12 (PE3) of an MSP432E401Y to measure the output voltage of a REF2033QDDCRQ1 device. The read value is consistently ~2.020 V. The value should read ~1.65 V (I've confirmed with an oscilloscope). Why might the value be off by that margin?

  • Hi,

Can you repeat the same issue on another board? I suppose you are using your custom board. Is that correct?

Can you repeat the same issue on a LaunchPad? What do you measure on a LaunchPad?

There is an errata ADC#13 that is related to PE3 but it should not affect the PE3 if it is configured as a AIN0. The problem is more related to a glitch on PE3 when used as a GPIO input that is coupled by other ADC channels during sampling. See below. Can you follow the workaround in ADC#14 to disregard the first two samples of AIN0 after the ADC clock is enabled. Do the subsequent ADC measurements generate reasonable values or they are still off?

  • Hi,

I have not heard back from you. Not sure if you are able to resolve the issue. I will close the thread for now. If you have any update you can write back to the post and the post will change the status to OPEN again.
