AM2434: .appimage_xip file size

Why is the .appimage_xip only 1KB compared to the .appimage.hs_fs and .appimage files generated by CCS1240? Is there a way to verify these 3 files are valid before flashing?

I want to make sure I have all the right files before trying with UniFlash tool to flash my EVM board. Thanks.

Hi HIEP HUYNH,

If your application is completely RAM based, the appimage_xip will just consists of header as it lacks any flash executable images.

Are you using Uniflash "tool" or Uniflash Python script as part of MCU_PLUS_SDK ?

I'm not yet familiar with Uniflash application tool. Is that the easiest way to flash the generated image?

For my application code, I thought the generated .out file gets converted to RPRC file, then convert RPRC into a bootable .appimage file. So how can I just flash this .appimage using Uniflash tool? Is .appimage_xip also required by the tool?

Hi HIEP HUYNH,

Do you have a XiP section in your application image ? Do you intend to execute from the flash ? If yes, then only you need to program the .appimage_xip. If you have a RAM base application only, then you don't need to flash the .appimage_xip
