TMS570LS3137: Does the MPU add some delay in peripheral register writing?

Hi

I'm configuring the MPU to protect some registers like GIO peripherals. Also, I'm doing a readback of all the registers that I write, but it looks like when I set a value to the GIODOUTB registers isn't possible to do a readback of the value that I set immediately I have to wait sometime to do the readback, this wasn't happening when I had the MPU disabled, does the MPU protection adds delay for the data to be set in the register?
Does the MPU add some delay in register reading?
