MCU-PLUS-SDK-AM243X: TSN communication with MSRP and AVB

Hi, I'm looking to use the LP-243x to demonstrate a TSN application in a FreeRTOS application. I'm using the MCU-PLUS-SDK-AM243x 9.1.0.41 with the industrial comms SDK 9.1.0.3. I see that there are example projects for TSN, but the TSN functionality is generally limited to gPTP (802.1AS). From the Time Sensitive Networking for Industrial Automation (Rev C) document (https://www.ti.com/lit/wp/spry316c/spry316c.pdf?ts=1705042586937), I see that it should be possible to use FreeRTOS to support SRP (802.1Q and 802.1Qcc) via Netconf, as well as AVB communications (802.1BA) via an evaluation in the 9.0 SDK. Are there any examples available demonstrating this capability? If not, is there additional documentation that could allow us to begin working toward an implementation of TSN communications in the context of the AVB protocol?

We currently only have GPTP stack availaible on AM243x. For AVB let me check if we have any plans for it.

Hi Nilabh,

Do you have additional TSN capabilities available for higher-level chips like the AM62x or AM64x?

We do not have a specific use-case yet - my team is looking to position ourselves to be ready to implement deterministic ethernet in case a customer requests it.

As AM64x and AM62x are processor chips, could you please create a seperate thread for these so that it gets routed to dedicated expert.

Hi Chris,

For MRP feature on CPSW we are targeting by MCU+ SDK REL 09.02 which is by April end 2024.

We will not be having AVB on AM243x as it is not an audio device essentially, we are planning for AVB support on AM273x by Q2 2024

The AM273x datasheet does not list TSN capability, looks to only be capable of 10/100 Mbps ethernet (no CPSW or PRU), and is not listed as TSN-capable in TI's TSN document (https://www.ti.com/lit/wp/spry316c/spry316c.pdf?ts=1705042586937). Am I missing something there?

We are still evaluating the AVB support capable device. I have given the requirement on AM243x. I will update you once we have a confirmation.
