AM2634-Q1: memory overlay for XETK(XCP) calibration/measure

Dear Champs,

My customer is trying to implement XETK(XCP) calibration and memory overlay is required for this.

Could you please check below memory overlay can be implemented on AM2634 to switch WP(Working Page) and RP(Reference Page)?

e.g. memory overlay for XETK(XCP) calibration should work as below.

1. 0x00000000 ~ 0x00001000 : RP region

2. 0x10000000 ~ 0x10001000 : WP region

3. without memory overlay(overlay turn-off), RP region will be accessed when 0x00000010 will be accessed, for example.

4. WP set to RP, and memory overly turn-on

5. with memory overlay(overlay turn-of), WP region will be accessed when 0x00000010 will be accessed.

Is it possible to implement this memory overlay scenario for XETK(XCP) calibration on AM2634?

Apologies for late reply, This is possible on AM263Px on the hardware as it has special hardware that is introduced with OptiFlash technology is called RAT or Region Address Translation. On the AM263x side, memory overlay will carefully have to be handled as a part of the software. Is a customer requesting this on AM2634? Can you share some more details?

Yes. it is for AM2634, not AM263Px.

What they want are

1. on/off fuction to enable/disable overlay(or mirroring)

2. Overlay(mirroring) of specific region(WP region)

They need this feature to implement XETK(XCP) calibration of ETAS on AM2634, and I'm curious if ETAS has a recommendation for AM2634.

Could you please provide guidance for memory overlay in AM2634?

I would like to know more about the customer and their end use case applications.

Currently as I mentioned there is no support for memory overlay functions in AM263x. Is there any specific reason on why the customer cannot try out and choose the AM263Px here since it already has hardware support for it?

Since we do not have software support for memory overlay on AM263x,I unfortunately don't have any information to share about memory overlay, but you can try to find it in the ti-arm-clang tool user guide:

As I mentioned, this is to implement functions like calibration of XETK(XCP) tool of ETAS. As their development is final stage, it is hard for them to move AM263P.
