my customer was wondering if need to consider the thermal vias in his layout. He will not run the MSP at full processing power.

Yes, I recommend that you can add some thermal vias appropriately.

Hello Janz,

the reason why the customer has asked this was that he wants to avoid to place the vias. This would make the layouting for his project much easier.

So if you run the MSP at a low clock speed is it really necessary to place thermal vias?

Hello Jan,

If the MCU runs at a low clock speed, it is not necessary to place the thermal vias.
