TMS470R1A288: Does CCS really support TMS470R1A288?

Part Number: TMS470R1A288

Hi,

We are trying to create a new CCS project for the TMS470R1A288 MCU.

We use CCS 12 and the MCU is listed among the supported devices on the CCS product page (as seen below).

But in CCS we don't see TMS470R1A288 in the Target drop down list.

Compiler: TI v20.2.7

Can anybody help us?

(We are aware of the fact that the MCU is not recommended for new designs. We are dealing with a legacy project.)

  • HI,

I think there might be a misinformation on CCS support for TMS470R1A288. This is a very old device that is NRND. I will suggest you use your prior development tool for this device. In the meantime, I will transfer your post to our CCS experts for confirmation about the support for TMS470R1A288.

  • Hi,

    any update on this?

If the latest CCS version really doesn't support this processor, could you tell us which version does? Or is there any other tool (even unsupported) that can be used to program the MCU?

    Cheers

  • The TMS470R1A288 is an ARM7. If the exact device is not available in the drop-down, you can use the generic ARM7 option to create a new project.

You will need to specify a customer linker cmd file however.

I checked various versions of CCS from CCSv4 all the way to CCSv12 and I don't see full support for that specific device. Hence you will need to use custom configurations.
