UNIFLASH: "Generate Standalone Command Line Package" produces incomplete installation package

Steps taken: 

  1. Launch web version of UniFlash: https://dev.ti.com/uniflash
  2. Select IWRL6432,click 'Start'
  3. In 'Program' tab, browse to the local .appimage file
  4. In 'Standalone Command Line' tab, leave all default options selected
    • Device: IWRL6432
    • Connection: Serial Connection
    • Images: (1) <my_file>.appimage
    • Settings: checked
    • Operating System: Windows
    • Package Name: uniflash_windows.zip
  5. Click 'Generate Package'
  6. uniflash_windows.zip is downloaded
  7. Extract uniflash_windows.zip
  8. Open command line, run 'one_time_setup.bat' (which incidentally doesn't contain lines that actually do anything)
  9. Run 'dslite.bat'
  10. Observe error reported below:

    What are you trying to generate with this? If you want a standalone CLI flashing utility, see the arprog_cmdline.py script in C:\ti\MMWAVE_L_SDK_05_03_00_02\tools\boot

    Thanks for the suggestion, I'll take a look at that.

    I'm trying to create a headache-free workflow for developers to use to generate stand-alone flashing utilities which are used by an automated test system.

    Is the 'Standalone Command Line' package generator not supposed to generate a package which will work standalone?

    I believe we on the Radar team use the tool as Nathan mentioned. Details on its use can be found in C:/ti\MMWAVE_L_SDK_05_03_00_02/docs/api_guide_xwrL64xx/GETTING_STARTED_FLASH.html

    I attempted to do the same thing as you with using Uniflash, but was also unsuccessful, albeit due to a different reason. The only thing that stands out to me about your log is the fact your error says "\uniflash_windows\ccs_ ase\DebugServer\" when it should be "\uniflash_windows\ccs_base\DebugServer\"

    Thanks for looking at this.

    I noticed that as well. In addition to the file path not being correct, that file does not exist in the actual `ccs_base\DebugServer` directory.

    My (unfounded) suspicion is that there is a manifest containing a list of paths the generator should include in the package, and that the manifest contains the invalid path (with "ccs_ ase").

    As we on the Radar team do not use 'Standalone Command Line' package generator, there might be some compatibility issues with it and our mmWave devices. I hope the script pointed out by Nathan can help you reach the solution you're looking for.
