HF LPO thresholds for oscillator monitor TMS570LC4357

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS570LC4357

Hello,

I have another Question regarding the HF LPO (TMS570LC4357)

Do the thresholds from figure 2-7 change for a trimmed HF LPO ?

I don't understand how to calculate the thresholds 4,875 and 22.

For min and max I know its: min = 5,5/4 = 1,375 ;  max = 19,5*4 = 78

Thanks

David

  • Hi David,

Yes, they will change for trimmed HF LPO frequency.

For example, If my HFLPO frequency is 5.5 Mhz then my lower threshold will be 1.375Mhz (5.5/4) and Higher threshold will be 22Mhz (5.5*4). So that means any oscillator frequency less than 1.375Mhz or greater than 22Mhz will be considered as oscillator fail condition.

And similarly, If my HFLPO frequency is 19.5 Mhz then my lower threshold will be 4.875Mhz (19.5/4) and Higher threshold will be 78Mhz (19.5*4). So that means any oscillator frequency less than 4.875Mhz or greater than 78Mhz will be considered as oscillator fail condition.

In this way the thresholds for oscillator will change based on HF LPO frequency.
