TMS570LC4357: Thermal sensing issue on u TMS5704357BZWTQQI

Part Number: TMS570LC4357

Dear Sir,

in an application some samples of microcontroller P/N TMS570LC4357ZWT fail due to a wrong sensing of the internal temperature. In particular, in the faulty microcontrollers the sensor measures a temperature about 15 °C higher than the temperature measured by the operating devices. For example, 1 or 2 seconds after power on of boards with temperature of 20°C the internal temperature of the faulty microcontrollers is 35°C - 40:C, while the temperature of the operating microcontrollers is about 24°C. Take into account that the test was performed on boards  powered off for several hours.

The S/N of some of the devices that show this issue are listed below:

  • YFB-83CD4PW
  • YFB-IBARR7W
  • YFB-29AVKSW

Could you help us to fix this issue?

Thanks

Best regards

Marco Pizzato

  • Hi Marco,

The 40 degree is normal after the MCU is executing code for a while. Does the "fault" device run the same code as the "good" device? Is the temperature measured using sensor 3 which is located in the center of the device?
