  • Hello,

Which Texas Instruments microcontroller / processor are you trying to program with the XDS200?

    Best Regards,

    Ralph Jacobi

  • yes using Code Composer Studio v12.6

  • Hello Joshua,

I need the part number of the target device. XDS200 programs many TI devices and this issue is typically related to the hardware you are using, so I need to understand the target device before we can help with this issue.

    Best Regards,

    Ralph Jacobi

  • its a xds200 debug probe tmdsemu200-u I'm programming a GE PIBe part number 101065803 . we have two of these debug probes one works and the other is coming up with this error message . i called Mouser electronics where we bought this unit and they told me

“PER SDC, please have customer post issues with device to -

    https://e2e.ti.com/

TI has engineers that may assist in issues with this device and help with

diagnostics and or determine part is defective and needing to be replaced.

IF they do determine part is defective, please save link to TI response to

    help us expedite replacement.”

Once the above is done be sure to advise if assistance is still needed.

  • Hello Joshua,

    What is:

    GE PIBe part number 101065803

Is this something purchased from another company other than Texas Instruments? If so, what is the use case for using an XDS200 with it? Any documentation you can provide?

    Best Regards,

    Ralph Jacobi

  • PIBe+ DSP programming User manual.pdf

we were told by GE that we can us the xds200 for program this unit.

like i said we bought two of these xds200 debuging probes and the other probe is working fine

  • Hello Joshua,

We will not authorize any replacement for a product used for this purpose.

The TMDSEMU200-U falls specifically under TI's terms and conditions for Evaluation Items which includes the following:

9.2 Evaluation Items Use.  Evaluation Items are intended solely for product and/or software developers for use in a research and development setting to facilitate feasibility evaluation, experimentation, or scientific analysis of TI Products.  Evaluation Items may have no direct function and shall not be used in production applications, or production test platforms, or as test equipment.  Buyer may use Evaluation Items for field testing (i.e. to evaluate Buyer’s application) only with TI’s advance written permission. Evaluation Items are not intended for consumer or household use.

I do not have awareness to whether or not there has been 'advance written permission' for the use of an XDS200 for GE's product, that could well be the case, but because it is not being used with a TI product, we do not have a means to evaluate if the programmer is defective or not.
