Hi,
I often see the SDL (Safety Diagnostics Library) in some documents or slides regarding Safety solution.
On the other hand, SDL (Software Diagnostics Library) is included in the MCU+ SDK.
What's difference between Safety DL and Software DL ?
Are they same ? If same, How do you use the two words differently?
Regards,
Hideaki
Hello Hideaki,

The software diagnostics library is just a software interface to the various safety mechanism and features available in the SoC. As you have mentioned, it is available in the MCU+SDK which customers can use.

Ideally, both words must imply the same end usecase. Can you please point me to the docs/slides where you found Safety Diagnostics library being used. I will take a look at it and provide further clarifications.

Hi Nihar,

Thanks for sharing these. I have looked at them and checked with the team internally.
Both the Safety DL and Software DL mean the same thing. The wording is just different in a few places. We can use the term Safety Diagnostics Library everywhere. The MCU+SDK documentation will also be updated to Safety Diagnostics Library instead of Software Diagnostics Library soon.
Apologies for the confusion here.
