MCU-PLUS-SDK-AM243X: Unresolved symbol error when integrating DP83822 driver

Hi,

Can you please share which example you are using and the integration guide you are referring to?

This error usually indicates that you have not included the required header files in the source file, assuming that all other configurations are correct.

Hi Nitika,

I am using the layer2 cpsw example and the guide is refering to AM243x MCU+ SDK: Ethernet PHY Integration Guide.

The last two steps of the guide is altered as Nilabh suggested.

The gEnetPhyDrvs[] (and the extern declartions above) goes into the custom board file which is needed when checking the customer board check box in sysfcg, 

Also, the dp83822.c is added to another makefile file instead of one in the guide. You may refer to my screen shot in previous reply for which makefile file is modified. 

I can share with you the project I am having these errors if you want.

I am seeing errors that the command "make" is not found, do you know where is this? I can't add it to path due to IT restriction.  Also is it necessary to use "make" instead of the default build command?

As an update to this issue, we still have trouble using the project that Nilabh shared, but we've took it as reference and integrated the driver with compiling issues. We are now testing  the driver using loopback example. We are not able to run "PHY loopback", we can see  the TX task run to its end but the RX task is not receiving anything.

Now we can see the packets are received, but data is corrupted.

But, looks like RXGOODFRAMES of Port0 = TXGOODFRAMES of Port2

RXGOODFRAMES of Port2 = TXGOODFRAMES of Port0

Hi Ashwani,

We switched to RMII in syscfg and also changed some codes in the driver to ensure driver binding.

Yes, we didn't notice this. I think the frames sent by port0 should go back to port0, instead of port2, right? Do you know what might be the problem here?

As an update to this, customer also tried LWIP example and is able to send and receive first few frames, and rest of the revoiced frame are corrupted too (incorrect data)

It may be due to some application related changes effect.

Can you try the same out of box example on AM243x-evm and update the results?

Since their MII interface and PHY is different to EVM, we cannot try the same sample on EVM. Any idea what changes can cause this?

Hi Hang, while Ashwani is out of office, could you please help me to recap current issue? Also, which MCU-SDK version? Custom board right?

A summary of current test, what is working and what is not would be really helpful in order to loop the correct experts.
