Hi BU experts,

I am asking this issue for my customer.

With external Flash, customer can use programmer to program the appimage into it directly in production line, and in this way the JTAG or UART can be saved.

So with SIP device, how can customer program the device? I mean what kind of interface used in this process? And any constrains on the boot mode settings? During production, the device will always be set as OSPI boot. And in this condition, is the device still supporting JTAG programming?

Hi Will,

We support TI Uniflash as our option to program the devices at assembly line. TI Uniflash is an interface which is extended for GUI as well as command line experience. The command line experience can be utilized and automated for assembly line programming.

What interface is used for Uniflash tool? JTAG? And what file format it uses, hex or appimage?

Hi Will Gao,

Uniflash supports both JTAG and UART for the flashing. The Uniflash does not flash the image based on the format (not for XiP atleast). It will flash the image as a binary blob into the flash.
