In the figure, left mark is a selection of a just buffer or an invert buffer.

And right mark is a latch block.

The FlagInvert should be connect to left mark and the FlagClr should be connected to right mark.

We did a more detailed review of this diagram with a design expert and your feedback is on point but also there was an error with how the Status output is being pulled too:

You'll see the Status is pulled before the inversion now.

This will be reflected in the next TRM revision.
