AM2634: Error initializing emulator: (Error -260 @ 0x0)

Today I tried to debug a program for AM2634-LP , I encountered following error-
DEBUGSSM_0: Error initializing emulator: (Error -260 @ 0x0) An attempt to connect to the XDS110 failed. The cause may be one or more of: no XDS110 is connected, invalid firmware update, invalid XDS110 serial number, or faulty USB cable. The firmware and serial number may be updated using the xdsdfu utility found in the .../ccs_base/common/uscif/xds110 directory of your installation. View the XDS110SupportReadMe.pdf file there for instructions. (Emulation package 12.6.0.00029)

device manager detects the xds110 debug probe.

but when i run xdsdfu -m command, it gives the requested device not found

C:\ti\ccs1260\ccs\ccs_base\common\uscif\xds110>xdsdfu -m

How to solve this issue??

Looks like the COM port for the XDS110 is dectected. If you expand the "Texas Instruments Debug Probes" node, does it look like the below?

Yes, it looks like that.
And also driver is up to date.

If you run the Test Connection option in CCS, do you get the same error?

What happens when you run "xdsdfu.exe -e". I assume nothing is detected?

when i run test connection option in ccs i get following
The error is generated by TI's USCIF driver or utilities.
The value is '-260' (0Xfffffefc).
The title is 'SC_ERR_XDS110_OPEN'.

And also when i run "xdsdfu.exe -e" it gives
found 0 devices

I'm quite confused on how the XDS110 is getting detected in Device Manager but not xdsdfu. This usually does not happen.

Please unplug the launchpad and reboot the PC.

Then check device manager and confirm no XDS110 appears. Run xdsdfu -e and confirm 0 devices detected. Then plug in the launchpad. Check device manager again and see if XDS110 appears or not. Run xdsfdu-e again.

Hii Ki,
when i run "xdsdfu.exe -e" command for first time after connecting usb, it detects and gives 1 device found.
But when trying to debug in ccs it shows same error "Error initializing Emulator ( Error -260 0x0)".
Also after running program in ccs, when i try to re-run command "xdsdfu.exe -e" it says 0 device found.
pls tell what can be the issue.

I'm not sure I understand this. If you are unable to connect, how are you running the program in CCS?

sorry for late reply, i was out of station.
when i run "xdsdfu.exe -e" command for first time i am getting

But when i try to debug the example project then i get Error initializing emulator: (Error -260 @ 0x0) An attempt to connect to the XDS110 failed.
And after that when i run "xdsdfu.exe -e" command i am getting

pls tell what can be issue.

A few things regarding your launchpad - make sure it has enough power. I believe you need 15W at least. Also, make sure you connect the power cable first and xds110 cable second.

What example project are you trying to debug?

Can you try a manual launch instead?
