AM263P4: Does the Resolver support output differential PWM?

Hi BU,

Customer want to check with you what is the accurate function for RES0_PWMOUT0/1, is this mean that PWMOUT0 and PWMOUT1 are 2 differential PWM output or means that PWMOUT0 belongs to resolver-0 and PWMOUT1 belongs to resolver-1.. It is very confused... And do we have reference design (for excitation and analog conditioning) and driver software to show how to use it and the performance metrics?

Hi Will,

Both the RESx_PWMOUT0 and RESx_PWMOUT1 output the exact same PWM waveform. It is just provided as two pins for convenience, to use two different external on-board amplifiers for driving two different Resolvers.

Currently we do not have a reference design under AM263P. For Resolver Excitation reference, please refer to Figure 7-127 of AM263P Technical Reference Manual. Further details can be referred from ALM2403-Q1 page.

For Driver software please refer Resolver section under AM263Px MCU+ SDK 09.01.00 and Resolver Angle and Velocity resolution example might be of help.
