RM57L843: Halcogen pinmux with RMII and MibSPI

Part Number: RM57L843

Hi all,

a customer is trying to create a new pinmux configuration for a project requiring RMII (or MII) and at least 3x SPI interfaces, 1x CAN, I2C and possibly an EMIF, and several GPIO.

When selecting RMII and any of the MibSPI interfaces, the tool shows pin conflicts, and the more MibSPI interfaces are selected, the more pinmux conflicts exist.

How can these pinmux conflicts be resolved?

Thanks!

  • Hi Gunter,

The PINMUX window determines a mux configuration for your system once you’ve specified the peripheral signals your system requires external pinouts for. If a pin conflict occurs, there is no way to configure the device to meet the specifications you've entered and you'll have to remove some selections: you may not need all the chip select pins of MibSPI modules and EMIF interface.

  • Hi all,

the pinmux conflicts are primarily limted to MIBSPIxNCS pins. Therefore we are checking with the customer how many NCS per port are needed in the application. I don't see a big issue with this currently.
