Hercules Safety MCU Demos installation fail

Hi,

I tried to install the new Safety MCU Demo on my Win XP SP3 pc.

The installation fails with the following error message:

This issue was validated on a second Win XP pc.

On my Win7 system the installation works fine!

Hello Matthias,

Would you run msiexec.exe which is usually found in c:\windows\system32 and see what version it reports?

If the version is less than v4.5, please install Windows Installer v4.5 and try installing the Safety MCU Demo again.

thanks for your reply.

My version of Windows ® Installer is V 4.5.6001.22159.

--> Installation still fails...

Do you have admin rights to the machine you are installing on?

And what is the exact versioin of XP (Version, language, etc) you are running?

There was an issue with the installer where it was trying to create a log file on a d:\. A corrected installer is in the process of being released.
