TM4C1294NCPDT: TM4C1294NCPDT

Part Number: TM4C1294NCPDT

Dear team,

We have chosen the TM4C1294NCPDT as one of our applications, which requires two Ethernet communications. However, the TM4C1294NCPDT MCU only supports a single Ethernet port. So we decided to parallel the output of the magnetic transformer. The block diagram I've provided displays what we wanted to do. So please let us know whether this is OK or if we need to make any changes.

  • Hi,

I'm not a network expert and personally, I've never seen a setup as such before. The MCU or the NIC can only have one MAC address and one IP address.  How would you resolve any conflicts between the two ports? Maybe using VLAN at the router/switch level? What benefit are you getting with a setup as such? I will say it is not OK unless you prove otherwise.
