I am trying to use the internal ADC module on the Hercules TMS570 Safety MCU
Question 1:
Where can I find the pinout diagram/schematic for the TMS570 Development Board? I would like to use the Temperature or Light Sensor as input to AD1IN0 on the Development Kit to test if ADC1 is configured correctly.
Question 2:
Is there a demo/example project available for Temperature or Light Sensor?

The demo software is not easy to use. It does not work on Windows 11.
Pressing PORST doesn't work, I cannot get past this error window.
On trying to import the demo as CCS projects, the include paths are not resolved, there are no source files in the project and I cannot even change any settings in project properties as it displays below errors.
Question:
To connect an external temperature sensor on AD1IN0 and measure it using ADC 1.
Do I need to change any PINMUX settings? I am using SOFTWARE TRIGGER and ADC Group 1 for conversion.
In the software, before reading from the ADC Data (using adcGetData) I call the function adcStartConversion to ensure the SOFTWARE TRIGGERING happens.
But I keep reading ZERO.
If I insert a breakpoint where adcGetData is called, I end up in HL_sys_intvecs.asm on "b prefetchEntry" line
On measuring the voltage as AD1IN0, I get 1.6V
What other setting am I missing?

I have tried using your 2nd thread too. Which is why I have attached screenshots of the CCS projects I tried to import from the DEMO folder. But they do not import as expected. The source files are missing, include paths cannot be resolved and moreover include settings cannot be edited due to project errors. Please refer to screenshots in my above reply.

Hi Jagadish,
I have narrowed down my issue of not reading data to adcGetData function.
In this function, "count" variable is at zero and therefore the "for loop" is not executed at all. Even though the data in buffer is 0x4C9. The "ptr->value" variable somehow picks up 0xF0.
I am using only ADC1 and only Group1.
What is going wrong in this function?
It is HALCOGEN generated code, and all the parameters are passed to it as per configuration.

My apologies for the delay in late response. I am on leave for two days.
I created one example on HDK board to read ADCIN0 value.
ADC_AD1IN0_Conversion_LC4357HDK.zip
In this example after reading ADC value i am sending corresponding channel ID and value to the serial port with baud rate 9600, 2 stop bits and no parity.
Here is my tested result:
As you can see there is a change in the channel value (initially it was connected to ground and after some time it was opened).
You can use the same example for more than one channel conversion as well, i mean you just need to give the channel number to the macro "NUMBER_OF_CHANNELS" based on the number of channels you selected in the HALCoGen.
