MSPM0L1306: Minimum pins for SWD protocol to debug L1306

Part Number: MSPM0L1306

Dear Champs,

I am asking this for our customer.

From the hardware design guide below, by using SWD protocol to debug L1306 on user's board, the minimum pin needed are 4 pins, that is, SWCLK, SWDIO, 3.3V and GND.

nRST is not needed.

That is, the user can use a cable from 2.54-mm probe or from J102 10-pin probe by using only these four pins (SWCLK, SWDIO, 3.3V and GND).

Is it correct?

(We are confused if nRST is required here.)

  • Hi, Wayne

Four wire is OK. But customer need to check thier 3.3V power current is below 200mA, because XDS110's max current support is 200mA.

For nRST and PA18(BSL Invoke Pin), add as test point is recommended to support more operations during development.

    ------------------

If customer is using external power supply when debug, only 3 wires: SWDIO, SWDCLK and GND is OK.

    Regards,

    Helic
